# [CANCELED] Redistribute Unclaimed Airdrop to $OBOL Stakers

🎯 Summary

This proposal suggests that approximately 20 million unclaimed airdrop tokens be redistributed to users who are actively staking $OBOL tokens, rather than remaining idle or being burned. The goal is to increase staking participation, reward long-term commitment, and strengthen the health and decentralization of the OBOL ecosystem.

🧾 Context

During the initial airdrop event, a portion of tokens was allocated to eligible users. However, despite multiple reminders, a significant amount---estimated at 20 million tokens---remains unclaimed after the deadline.

Instead of letting these tokens remain unused, this proposal aims to repurpose them in a way that directly benefits the OBOL ecosystem and its most committed participants.

✅ Proposal Details

Redistribution Target: All unclaimed airdrop tokens (approx. 20,000,000 OBOL，based on the actual amount remaining at the time of execution)

Eligibility: Wallets that are staking $OBOL at the time of the snapshot

Distribution Method: Proportional to the amount of $OBOL staked by each user

Snapshot Date: 12th-May-2025 8:00 UTC

Distribution Date: 15th-May-2025 8:00 UTC

📌 Rationale

1\. Incentivize Staking

Increasing staking participation supports network security, decentralization, and governance engagement. Redistributing unclaimed tokens to stakers directly aligns with these goals.

2\. Reward Commitment

Stakers are long-term supporters who lock up their tokens for the good of the network. This proposal recognizes and rewards that commitment.

3\. Avoid Waste of Resources

Letting millions of tokens sit idle or be forgotten weakens tokenomics. Redirecting them to active participants ensures the ecosystem continues to grow.

4\. Simple and Fair

The distribution formula is transparent and fair: users receive a share of the pool proportional to the amount they have staked.

⚠️ Considerations

Only wallets with active stakes at the snapshot time will be eligible.

The redistributed tokens may be subject to the same lock-up or vesting rules as other staking rewards (if applicable).

This is a one-time redistribution based on a past unclaimed airdrop event.

🙌 Community Impact

By approving this proposal, we can:

Boost OBOL staking participation;

Increase alignment among long-term holders;

Strengthen token utility and fairness;

Re-engage the community in the ecosystem's growth.

Let's ensure that unused resources go to those helping move the project forward. If you support this idea, please vote in favor and help bring it to life.
